It is also used in Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Caucasus, Balkans, many regions of Georgia, and in parts of the Russian polar regions

It is specifically designed to be used for solo performances. Jingles have a high-pitched, clear sound. The soloist plays the instrument easily by relaxed finger movements on its surface. It produces a high-toned and voluminous sound.
